Overview: This year the elective of Diversity and Inclusion saw an upsurge in the number of students to 150. I was invited to conduct a lecture for students. The key topics covered in a 90 min session were around concepts of D&I, bringing awareness of the biases that we hold, case studies on what organisations are doing as a part of D&I initiatives. We make the session interactive with short quiz, videos and reflection questions.
Time was spent to discuss key traits of an inclusive leader and how students can build inclusive culture in their own work groups. Overall a very engaging session with questions from students at regular intervals.
